These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of https://rishtapatra.com and the RishtaPatra mobile app (together, the “Service”), operated from India (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

RishtaPatra lets you create a marriage biodata document from details you enter or import, choose a template, and download or share the result; it also offers the free Janam Kundali, the optional Rishta Connect matchmaking feature and an optional account. The free tier may show a small credit line and watermark on downloads. Paid items are listed on the Pricing page.

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. A person creating a biodata or profile for a family member must have that person’s knowledge and consent.

Accounts

An account is optional and free. Sign-in is provided through Google Firebase Authentication (Google, e-mail + password or phone). When you create one you agree that:

You keep one account per person and give truthful details; accounts created to impersonate someone or to evade a suspension are removed.
You are responsible for your device and for signing out on shared devices. Anything done while signed in on your device counts as done by you; tell us at once if you believe someone else has used your account.
Purchases made while signed in are linked to the account and restored on any device you sign in to; purchases made as a guest stay on that device unless you restore them with the unlock code.
We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these Terms or the Rishta Connect rules below, after which its Rishta Connect profile is removed as well. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the account page.

2. Your content

You own the text and photos you put into a biodata. You confirm you have the right to use them (including any photo of another person) and that the content is truthful and lawful. We do not review biodata content. You are responsible for whom you share your biodata with.

3. Purchases, unlock codes and licence

Prices are shown in INR before payment. Payment is processed by Razorpay; we never see your card or UPI credentials.
A purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the purchased template(s) or service for your own or your family member’s biodata. Templates, artwork and fonts remain our (or our licensors’) property and may not be resold or redistributed.
Each purchase produces an unlock code. Keep it safe: it is the proof of purchase that restores access on another device. If you lose it, the Razorpay payment ID from your receipt can be used instead on the Restore screen.
Unlocks are stored on your device. Clearing browser data removes them locally; use the unlock code to restore.

4. Services

“Biodata made for you” is delivered over WhatsApp or e-mail within 24 hours of receiving your details, with edits for 7 days. The “Web biodata page” is an unlisted page at https://rishtapatra.com/b/… that stays online for the period shown at purchase (normally one year) and can be updated or taken offline by you at any time.

5. Referral programme and coupons

Referral rewards are granted only for completed paid purchases made through your referral link by other people; self-referrals and free unlocks do not count. We may change or end the programme and void rewards obtained through abuse. Coupons are subject to the limits shown when offered.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to create biodatas for people without their consent, to harass, defraud or impersonate, to upload unlawful content, or to interfere with the Service (scraping, probing, resale of accounts or codes).

7. Availability and changes

We aim for the Service to be available at all times but do not guarantee it. We may change features, prices or these Terms; changes apply from the date they are published here. Purchases already made are not affected by later price changes.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that any biodata leads to a match. Rishta Connect is an introduction service; we do not vouch for members or guarantee a marriage. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Rishta Connect

Rishta Connect is an optional, privacy-first matchmaking feature: you publish a profile built from your biodata, see a daily set of compatible profiles and exchange interests; contact details are revealed only after both sides accept. By publishing a profile you additionally agree to the following:

Eligibility. The person in the profile must be of legal marriageable age in India — a bride at least 18 and a groom at least 21 years old. You may publish a profile for yourself or for a family member (“managed by” parent, sibling, relative or friend) only with that person’s knowledge and consent.
Truthful details. Name, date of birth, marital status, education, occupation, horoscope details and photos must be accurate and belong to the person in the profile. One profile per person; duplicate or fake profiles are removed.
Conduct. No harassment, pressure or abusive messages; no commercial use (marriage bureaus, agencies, advertising, data collection); no sharing of another member’s biodata, photo or contact details outside the purpose of this introduction. Use the Block and Report tools for anything that feels wrong.
No guarantees. We do not verify the details members enter (the “Verified” badge only means our team looked at the profile) and we do not guarantee matches, replies or the accuracy of other members’ information. Meeting, checking references and all further steps are the families’ own responsibility.
Rishta Score and guna milan are indicative only. The score weighs the preferences both sides entered; the guna milan uses the North Indian Ashtakoota method on the declared rashi and nakshatra, without birth time or degrees. Treat both as a starting point and consult your pandit or astrologer before deciding.
Moderation. Every profile is reviewed by a person before it goes live. We may reject or remove a profile, hide it pending review, resolve reports and switch the feature off at our discretion, and we may do so without giving reasons when safety requires it.
Connect Pass and Pro add-ons. The Connect Pass is a digital service that removes the daily interest limit for 30 days (and includes Who viewed me, Seen receipts and Incognito), starting when you activate it on a profile. It is tied to one profile, is not transferable and does not promise any match. Pro add-ons: Spotlight and Super Interests improve visibility only — they do not guarantee responses or matches. Who viewed me shows members who opened your profile in the last 30 days. The Verified badge is a reasonable-effort identity check performed over WhatsApp, not a background check, and may be refused (fee refunded). See the Refund Policy.
Your identity is your recovery code. There is no login: the profile id and recovery code shown once at publishing are the only way to manage the profile from another device. If you lose them, publish again and ask us to remove the old profile.

Astrology content

The Janam Kundali, panchang, transits, Mangal dosha, yogas, Vimshottari dasha and Kundali Milan features are offered free of charge as cultural and informational content. They follow North Indian conventions — Lahiri ayanamsa, Rahu as the mean lunar node, whole-sign houses from the Lagna, Vimshottari dasha, the Ashtakoota method — computed from astronomical positions for the birth details you enter; every verdict is indicative, traditions differ, and we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or any outcome. Nothing in these features is medical, legal, financial or marital advice, and a Manglik or guna result is not a judgement about a person. Consult your pandit or astrologer before deciding anything on the basis of a chart. The quality of a chart depends on the birth time and place you enter; a chart computed with “time not known” is cast for noon.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in India. Consumers retain the rights given to them by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
