Questions about the kundali
How accurate is it, and which method is used?
Planet positions come from a modern astronomical model (true ecliptic of date), converted to sidereal with the Lahiri ayanamsa. Rahu is the mean node; houses are whole-sign from the Lagna (North Indian practice); dasha is Vimshottari with Mahadasha and Antardasha. Results are indicative — consult your pandit/astrologer for muhurta or important decisions.
Is my birth data uploaded anywhere?
No. The engine runs in your browser; nothing is sent to our servers. Birth details are saved in this browser’s storage and inside Kundali Card links you create. Rishta Connect receives only derived values (Moon sign, nakshatra, Lagna sign, Mars house, Manglik class).
What if I don’t know the birth time?
Switch on "I don’t know the time". The chart is computed at noon, Lagna-dependent sections are hidden or marked, and a band shows which Lagna each hour of that day would give. Moon-based results (Chandra kundali, nakshatra, dasha) still work, with a note that the dasha balance shifts if the Moon changed nakshatra that day.
What does "Manglik" mean here?
Mars in house 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 or 12 counted from the Lagna, the Moon or Venus. From the Lagna in 1/4/7/8 is high, 2/12 medium, only from the Moon or Venus partial. Classical cancellations (own sign, exaltation, with Jupiter or the Moon, certain sign-house pairs) soften it; every rule and cancellation is listed. Traditions differ — it is shown as information, not a verdict on a person.
How does Kundali Milan work?
Both charts are computed on your device. The 36-guna Ashtakoota (Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, Nadi) uses the Moon sign and nakshatra of both; Manglik is compared (both Manglik → traditionally neutralised); Nakshatra Vedha pairs are flagged. Share the result as a link with both cards.
